simple dried persimmon recipe

dirt bike man, baby #1 and i went to visit my dad's family in LA last month and we brought home with us 20+ lbs of persimmons!!  idk about you, but i love persimmons!  but there was no way in heck we'd be able to eat all of them before they went to waste.

so i learned how to turn my oven into a dehydrator and dehydrated the persimmons myself so we can enjoy the fruit longer without them going bad.  i would imagine the same technique would work with other fruits too.

simple dried persimmon recipe

bust out:

2 silpats

2 sheet trays

20 fresh persimmons, skins peeled

1) preheat oven to 170 F. cut each persimmon into 4-5 slices 1/3" thick.

2) place persimmons on silpat in a single layer.

3) dry persimmons in oven for 5-6 hours flipping persimmons a few times throughout the entire time until they are dried out.
