hi there! i have another great Christmas gift for you all! mason jar brownies!! i remember the 1st time my parents' neighbors gave my mom a cookie in a jar gift...it was SO COOL! plus, it'll last in a pantry for several months until you have one of those days that you're like "GAWD I need sugar", then you add a couple egg and a little mixing action and ta da! you'll have brownies. it's a homemade brownie mix in a jar!
also, don't judge me too harshly for my messiness below...for one, isn't that 'trendy'? and two it was a little difficult to aim one handed :D
Coconut Walnut Chocolate Chip Brownie Mix
Makes ~12 brownies
1/3 c chopped walnuts
1/2 c chocolate chips
1/3 c sweetened coconut flakes
2/3 c b sugar
3/4 c sugar
1/3 c hershey's special dark cocoa powder
1 1/2 c all purpose flour
1) Layer ingredients in quart-sized jar in order of appearance. Pack each layer down as necessary.
2) On cute paper or notecard write: Add mix to 2 eggs, 2/3 c veggie oil, 1 t vanilla. Mix well. Spread in 8" x 8" baking dish and bake at 350 F for 30 mins or until center tests done. Mix powdered sugar and water in a bowl. Flip cooled brownies out of baking pan. Using a pastry brush, brush top of uncut brownies with icing. Cut into 12 squares.
